DAY 7 - Omens - (Synchronicity)

In the last Meditation we touched on the notion that The Soul of The World communicates encouragement to us through The Language of The World and this is found in events of luck and coincidence.

These events are called Omens: chance events that occur just when we need them and are part of the very fabric of human existence that surround us continuously. Professor Carl Jung called these events Synchronicity and believed they carry no meaning on their own, except the meaning that we bring to them and consequently we recognise them and make choices and decisions based on them.

All teachers of enlightenment agree on one thing, Omens are signs and guides to lead us on the path of our journey to find our True Destiny.

The Arabic alchemists believed that if all is one - Prima Materia - then it must be possible to receive and read messages from the cosmos to assist in their process of personal transformation and decision making.

They believed that the elements of the cosmos participated in their choice to transform and create gold. If all things are connected, then we will see signs or omens in the form of luck and coincidence to confirm our choice and direction when we are on the right path of our transformational process.

All ancient cultures, both Western and Eastern, incorporate Omens somewhere within their folklore traditions because this is such a common—and, I would add, significant—phenomenon.

Typically this ranges from highly complicated horoscopes to simple superstitions of good and bad luck. Somewhere within this potpourri of belief systems lies the phenomenon of coincidences as the one of the most commonly recognized forms of meaningful Omens.

In his consideration of synchronicity in his Analytical Psychology practice, Professor Carl Jung did not go looking for meaning in every chanced happening. But he did identify that sometimes events took place in a moment of time that carried meaning for the observer but lacked any logical reason for their occurrence. Moreover, he observed that such events occurred more frequently with patients pursuing transformation and often seemed to speed the transformational process.

In my book The Secret of The Alchemist https://www.colmholland.com/shop and in my Facebook Group I tell multiple stories about my own Omen experiences. My life has been full of these experiences because I am committed to follow my dreams and I am open to let The Soul of The World speak to me.

Today's meditation mantra is simple but also one of the hardest things we will ever learn to do:

I am open to omens in my life to help me find my treasure.

And remember, to encourage you throughout these exercises I have asked Love to give you everything you need to be the Alchemist in your world.

(P.S. How are you going with committing the first verse of The Emerald Tablet to memory? https://www.colmholland.com/blog/the-emerald-tablet)
