Colm Holland’s 40 Days of Alchemy Meditations at home.

DAY 1 - The Emerald Tablet

Introduction:

For some time I have been trying to set time aside to engage in a series of Alchemy Exercises at home. My motivation has been to spend time totally focused on developing my Alchemy skills to clear the way across the universe to turn my latest dreams into a reality. I kept making excuses: I am too busy or I have more important things to do.

During this time of forced lockdown, I have embraced the opportunity to grab at least an hour a day to do the work and I know from experience the benefits will come flooding in.

As you follow this 40 day of exercises you will discover how Alchemy can assist in your quest to manifest your treasure. By the end of the time you will have a new set of skills to apply to every area of your life where you want to produce a positive change.

This first exercise is very simple and will get you started with a basic understanding of Alchemy and its power to transform your life.

Meditation 1:

Memorise the first verse of The Emerald Tablet by heart.

“Tis true without lying, certain and most true.

That which is below is like that which is above

and that which is above is like that which is below

to do the miracles of one only thing.” *

* Isaac Newton. "Keynes MS. 28," The Chymistry of Isaac Newton.

(A note: The Emerald Tablet, a mythical emerald crystal gemstone engraved with the inscription above, was the most revered source document of the ancient alchemists. The origins of the tablet supposedly dated back to the early Egyptian Thoth writings. It will come as no surprise that the actual green crystalline stone has been lost to antiquity, but it's mythical inscription has been preserved through the ages by ancient alchemist scholars. Isaac Newton made a translation from these sources, and a copy of it was discovered among his alchemical papers, currently housed in King’s College Library in Cambridge, England.)

Why do we need to memorise the first verse of The Emerald Tablet?

Because Alchemy is the art of connecting with the energy that imbues all matter across the universe through our unconscious mind. All things living and static consist of what the alchemists called ‘Prima Materia’ - a force that unites all things and can be engaged with simply through the power of our innermost thoughts. I call this energy: Love.

This may sound overwhelming as a first stage - but don’t worry we have 40 exercises to build up to the point when this will become your way of life.

First we need to train our thoughts to make the connection between the material world and our unconscious thoughts instinctively. By memorising the first verse we are engaging in some harmless self hypnosis so we can use the verse as a mantra later when we are at a more advanced stage.

You should be able to commit this to your permanent memory in a day:

“Tis true without lying, certain and most true.

That which is below is like that which is above

and that which is above is like that which is below

to do the miracles of one only thing.”

To encourage you throughout these exercises I have asked Love to give you everything you need to be the Alchemist in your world.
