DAY 39 - Treasure Found

Santaigo, the hero in the story of The Alchemist, discovers where the treasure of his dreams is buried when he finally arrives at the Pyramids. I won’t do a spoiler by giving away the ending - but if you have read the book you know how the story ends - and yes he does find his treasure.

Joseph Campbell - the world renown Professor of Literature and Mythology, who helped inspire the Star Wars movies - was the first academic to identify the common theme in so many of the ancient world’s mythologies - which he named The Hero’s Journey.

Campbell believed that when you commit to pursue your dreams; when you choose to let your deepest passion to drive and direct your life’s journey - then you are ‘following your bliss.’ In his mind this was the only way to live - there was no other way to find your treasure and here is my most favourite quote of his on this subject:

The goal of the hero trip

down to the jewel point

is to to find those levels of the psyche

that open, open, open,

and finally open to the mystery

of your Self being

Buddha consciousness

or the Christ.

That’s the journey.

It is all about finding

That still point in your mind

Where commitment drops away.

So here we are on the penultimate day of our 40 Days of Alchemy Meditations and like the heroes in all the ancient myths we have arrive back where we started and to discover that our treasure is here all along. The ancient alchemists knew this and it was one of their most closely guarded secrets.

The time for secrets has ended. The time for revelation is here. Love wants you to know beyond any doubt the importance of following your ‘Bliss’. No more smoke and mirrors. We are all alchemists when we follow our dreams and all the power of Love wants you to find your treasure and tomorrow we will open the treasure chest and embrace the riches that are ours.

Today’s mantra:

I will follow my bliss and I will find my greatest treasure and Love will lead the way.
